The Reflecting Pool

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting pool is situated between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument on the west side of the National Mall. The pool is a third of a mile long and about 3 feet deep. You can see either the Lincoln Memorial or the Washington Monument clearly reflected in the pool depending on where you stand.
There is another reflecting pool located on the east end of the Mall directly west of the U.S. Capitol Building. This pool is less photographed and smaller. It reflects the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial.
